It was nice to be able to go into the archives and see what the place was like. Typically the archives are closed to the public but as it is a holiday they opened them up so folks could walk through, look at the gardens and enjoy. They are building a new modern archives just outside of Paris, and once that is open this archive will hold only ancient records. There is also a rumor that the government might sell the building (a hotel particulier) to become a hotel. Hmmm. It would be a beautiful place to stay.
