Feeling so not old

Here is a great reason to love Paris. It is so old; actually it is insanely old, so old that my American mind can't imagine that it even saw a time when there wasn't pavement surrounding its buildings, like islands in a lake of concrete, but it is, and because it is there are things like this:
Now, I am not gigantor or anything like that. I have a respectable size 9 shoe but this side walk is so wonderful! Think of the legalities of it. There is maybe 6 inches on either side of my feet plus you can't see the cars parked on the other side of the street which makes it seem all the more narrow when a truck is coming through. Ahhh Paris; the things you do because someone built a building, paved the path between you and your neighbors, and then built machines to tear down what used to be your quiet sideyard.

And I passed this old thing on the way to work too
St. Germain, this church was begun in about 452. Yup, and it isn't even the oldest one here
