All the Saint in pieces and paints

This little chapel has the most Saintky relics in one place I have ever seen. The containers were all commissioned by our friends the über rich and powerful Medici's who also accumulated all these relics for the chapel of their morgue.

So all of the things that look like well shaded beautifully colored paintings are actually works of stone inlay. The shading is all stone. It look impossible but it's true. I can't imagine the time that this took to have created but that what you do when you're wealthy and have nothing else to do. You start the renaissance.
